The first thing I do is meet with you in your home to get to know "you": your likes and dislikes about the current space, your own "vision", your favorite colors and decorating styles, things you want to keep, and items you are thinking about buying. This initial meeting is all about "you" since the finished product must support and reflect your values, your lifestyle, preferences and priorities. We'll talk about a whole range of concepts, from simply "fluffing" which consists of rearranging your current furniture and accessorizing, to a complete makeover from the floor up and walls in…it all depends on you. Design Time After this initial get together, I'll use all of the information and ideas we've come up with to formulate a master plan. This will include, among other things, research, creation of a new floor plan, a concept for floors, furniture, walls and windows. This is where I pull it all together for you..... a floor plan with current and or new furniture in the space , color and fabric suggestions for walls, floors, furniture styles, window treatments and accessories , suggested structural changes or built-ins , sketches , research photographs of styles discussed. Sometimes clients take the plans and run with them; others use my expertise and knowledge of sources for escorted shopping trips to actually select the furniture, paint, fabrics and accessories; I prefer to help you do the selecting, let you buy the items yourself and then allow me to assist you with the final placement and finished look. Likewise, if we decide on any changes, I let you do the contracting. This eliminates the typical markup that designers usually charge and enables you to use as little or as much of my time and expertise as you wish.
